Earlier this month, Italian GPS manufacturer AvMap launched in partnership with car manufacturer Peugeot a new PND called Geosat 6 Drive Safe. Sold at €449 in exclusivity with the Peugeot 107 Sweet Years, Geosat 6 Drive Safe integrates a breathalyzer to test the sobriety of the driver. By blowing air on the right upper side of this PND you get your alcohol level and know if you are able to drive.
Geosat 6 Drive Safe has a 4.8 inches touchscreen, text to speech capability and Bluetooth for hands-free calls. This PND is provided with “Italia Plus” maps from Tele Atlas – meaning Italia, Slovenia, Austria, Switzerland, Croatia and South Eastern France. Gesat 6 Drive Safe is sold with a mounting kit allowing an elegant installation on the Peugeot 107 dashboard.
AvMap has been the provider to Peugeot Automobile in Italy since 2005 and has partnered for several special editions of Peugeot cars including Peugeot 206 Geosat, 107 Sweet Years, 1007 Freddy, 307 Australian Edition.
Portuguese PND manufacturer NDrive has also been demonstrating (see video below) this kind of device at the CeBIT trade show last March in Germany, however, its G400 PND is not yet for sale.
